Sovereign infrastructure for neurodivergent families, built by a father who needed it.

P31 Labs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit building sovereign AI tools for neurodivergent families. The stack is open source, costs about $5 a month to run, and keeps identity and audit records under your control — not a company's. Everything is verifiable: 22 citable papers, live code, a public registry. This page tells who built it and why.

The problem was the tools

When assistive technology is extractive — when your family's data is the product, locked behind corporate walls, dependent on a subscription and a login you don't control — the people who need the tools most are the ones it fails. Neurodivergent families need care infrastructure that is theirs: private by default, sovereign by design, and provable.

None of it existed. So it had to be built.

The same pattern holds at market scale. Worldwide sovereign cloud IaaS spending is forecast at $80 billion in 2026, up 35.6% from 2025 (Gartner press release, Feb 2026) — and it targets governments and enterprises, not households. The family-sized intersection was empty.

The founder

P31 Labs was founded by William Johnson — an AuDHD engineer and former DoD civilian. He spent sixteen years as a DoD civilian engineering technician (GS-0802-12) at Trident Refit Facility in Kings Bay, Georgia — work with an uncompromising reliability standard, where a single point of failure is not acceptable. That same ethos is the K4 topology underneath the whole stack: no single point of failure.

He is also a single father to two neurodivergent children. The stack was forged out of household survival during severe medical and legal hardship — stress-tested in a live, multi-adversarial environment, every line of code.

What started as a personal need became an open-source stack anyone can deploy: a real proof layer — an audit chain you can verify in ninety seconds, post-quantum identity that lives on your device, and research that is open and citable.

The build

The whole stack runs on Cloudflare's edge network for about $5 a month on the paid plan — zero added server costs, open source, citable on Zenodo. The $5 stack runbook spells out the exact arithmetic.

The geometric anchor

The K4 — four vertices, six edges, rigidity 6 — is the minimum isostatic structure. It's the geometric proof that anchors the research: a structure that cannot flex, that is exactly as connected as it needs to be. It's why the dome on this page is a geodesic, and why the research is about families that build.

That is the K4 idea at human scale — minimum leverage, maximum turn. Paper XIV maps Fuller's fifty-year prediction onto the P31 timeline, and Paper XX turns the trimtab into a design declaration.
